Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 17, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Quote Check processes information when you use the mobile application and its supporting services. Quote Check is designed to analyze quotes, estimates, invoices, and similar provider documents before payment.
1. Information Quote Check processes
- Documents and text you choose to analyze. This can include PDFs, images, office documents, spreadsheets, pasted text, and the contents extracted from them.
- Check context. For example document type, language, country, city, project context, and options you provide for a check.
- Account and sign-in data. Purchases require a Quote Check account. On iOS, Quote Check uses Sign in with Apple; on Android, Quote Check uses Google Sign-In. Quote Check stores its own internal user identifier, the sign-in provider identifier supplied through Firebase Authentication, and the email address supplied by that provider when available. Apple may provide a private relay email instead of your real address.
- Installation and entitlement data. Quote Check uses an installation identifier and server-side derived identifiers for device registration, diagnostics, free-check limits, anti-abuse controls, and support history. Paid credits, subscription benefits, promotional credits, gifts, and purchase history belong to your Quote Check account rather than to one installation.
- Purchase and subscription data. Product identifiers, store transaction/order identifiers or purchase tokens, subscription status, purchase/expiry timestamps, and credit grants. Apple and Google process the actual payment credentials; Quote Check does not receive your full payment-card details.
- Push notification data. If notifications are enabled, Quote Check stores the platform and push token required to deliver notifications.
- Diagnostics and support data. If you send a problem report, Quote Check stores your message and redacted technical diagnostics. The support endpoint is designed to reject raw document text, raw OCR, original file names, and common credential fields.
- Advertising and consent data. Google AdMob and Google's consent tools may process device, advertising, consent, and ad-interaction information according to your choices and applicable law.
2. Location
Quote Check can use your device location only when you request automatic location detection and grant permission. The app uses the coordinates to determine a city and country. The saved Quote Check default contains the city, country, and country code rather than a stored precise coordinate. A selected city/country can be included as context in a check so pricing can be evaluated for the relevant region.
3. How documents are processed
When server document recognition is used, selected source files are temporarily uploaded to the Quote Check backend and sent to Mistral AI for OCR. Quote Check requests deletion of the temporary Mistral file after OCR and removes each local backend source file after that file has been processed. OCR job data is temporary and the current backend cleanup policy expires inactive jobs after approximately two hours by default.
Extracted/structured document content may be processed by OpenAI or Mistral AI, depending on the configured processing stage, to normalize the document and perform the requested analysis. The final analysis endpoint is designed to accept structured/sanitized Quote Check payloads rather than the original file itself.
4. Why the information is used
- to recognize, structure, and analyze documents you submit;
- to create and maintain your Quote Check account and link it to your installations;
- to calculate and maintain available checks, purchases, subscriptions, promotional or gifted credits;
- to send optional product news or offers by email only when you separately enable that preference;
- to prevent duplicate purchase grants and support purchase restoration;
- to provide regional price context when you choose a location;
- to deliver notifications you have enabled;
- to diagnose problems, answer support requests, protect the service, and prevent abuse;
- to display and measure advertising for non-Pro users, subject to applicable consent requirements.
5. Service providers
Quote Check relies on third-party service providers to operate core functionality, including:
- Mistral AI — document OCR and, depending on configuration, document structuring;
- OpenAI — structured document processing and analysis;
- Google — Firebase Authentication, AdMob advertising and consent management, Firebase Cloud Messaging, Google Play billing, Google Sign-In, and Android platform services;
- Apple — Sign in with Apple, App Store billing, iOS platform services, and Apple push delivery infrastructure where applicable.
These providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies. Their processing may occur in countries other than your own.
6. Advertising
Quote Check displays advertising to users without an active Pro subscription. Banner ads can be shown to non-Pro users, including users who have purchased check credits. An interstitial ad may be shown when a free check is used. Paid-credit checks are not conditioned on viewing an interstitial ad. Active Pro removes Quote Check advertising while the subscription is active.
Where required, Quote Check uses Google's User Messaging Platform to request and manage advertising privacy choices. If Google requires a privacy-options entry for your region/device, Quote Check provides it in Settings so you can revisit those choices.
7. Data retention
Original files used by the OCR job are intended to be temporary as described above. Account identifiers, provider-linked identity records, purchase/subscription records, credit ledger records, installation-derived entitlement records, push registration data, marketing-consent records, and support records can be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to operate the service, restore purchases and balances across installations, prevent duplicate grants or fraud, provide support, comply with store/accounting requirements, and resolve disputes. Push tokens can be unregistered when the app unregisters that device.
8. Your choices
- You decide which documents and text to submit.
- You can deny location permission and enter a location manually.
- You can control notification permission through your operating system.
- Where available, use Settings → Privacy options to revisit advertising consent choices.
- You can sign out of your Quote Check account in Settings. Signing out removes that installation's access to the account balance; the balance remains stored with the account for the next sign-in.
- You can permanently delete your Quote Check account from Settings. Account identity records, linked installations, the remaining Quote Check credit balance, and the account credit ledger are removed. Store transaction/subscription records may be retained in de-linked form where reasonably necessary for refunds, duplicate-grant prevention, fraud/accounting requirements, or store purchase restoration.
- Deleting a Quote Check account does not itself cancel an Apple App Store or Google Play subscription. Store subscriptions must be cancelled through the applicable store account controls.
- You can separately enable or disable optional email news and offers in Settings.
- You can manage purchases and subscriptions through the Apple App Store or Google Play account controls provided by those platforms.
9. Security
Quote Check uses HTTPS for its public backend and applies server-side validation, identifier hashing for several internal records, redaction rules for support diagnostics, and restricted handling of purchase credentials. No online system can guarantee absolute security.
10. Children
Quote Check is not designed or directed specifically to children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through Quote Check in a way that requires removal, contact Quote Check using the method below.
11. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when Quote Check functionality, service providers, or legal requirements change. The updated date at the top of this page will be revised when material changes are published.
12. Contact
